Our environment: friendly, personal, green
Does your environment make a difference to the success of your study?
We think so. If you enjoy where you study, you feel comfortable and relaxed, and learning comes naturally.
Our campus environment, just 20 minutes drive from downtown Auckland, is set in 12 tree-lined hectares, with large green open spaces and substantial gardens. Parking is generous compared to other institutions, and we are close to major public transport routes.
Multicultural and friendly
Visit our campus, and you'll notice it's notably more friendly and personal than many city campuses. Perhaps this is due to our multicultural and cosmopolitan student base, with over 25,000 students from dozens of countries. We celebrate and embrace this diversity with open arms.
Alive with activity
There's always plenty going on around campus. Whether it's an exhibition from the arts students, a tasting at our catering school, or the famous weekend markets in our carpark, you'll find life is constantly surprising and stimulating. There's always a good coffee close by, too.
Many of our buildings are new and attractively designed to harmonise with the Historic Places Trust listed building we own, and access for students with disabilities is very good, especially in our new wings.
Nearby facilities include a free heated swimming pool, a new recreation centre, a public library and a small shopping centre.
What really matters though, is that people - whether school leavers, mature students, employees or employers - feel safe and comfortable in our environment.
So if you haven't visited us yet at Manukau Institute of Technology, why not drop by and spend some time on campus? You'll feel right at home.
