Manukau Institute of Technology
Manukau Institute of Technology is one of New Zealand's premier education and training institutions, a degree-granting institute of technology with an extensive portfolio.
Centrally located in Manukau, just 15 kilometres south of the heart of Auckland, with peaceful and attractive grounds, Manukau Institute of Technology provides high quality degree, diploma and certificate programmes in the business, human science, arts and technology fields. It prides itself on being responsive to the needs of the diverse market it serves, through highly skilled teaching professionals and a blend of academic rigour and applied education.
Manukau Institute of Technology's "staircasing" strategy enables students to access courses appropriate to their needs and allows them to develop their studies as far as they wish to go in a flexible manner, through combinations of full or part time study. Recognition is given for prior education, learning, life skills and work related skills.
Off campus, the Institute has strong links with business, industry and commerce.
These links are maintained by industry-based programme advisory groups who work with the Institute to ensure that the training and education it provides meet the needs of modern industry, and produce graduates who are well trained and highly skilled. Staff of the Institute are encouraged to maintain industry linkages in order to give their teaching an applied focus.
New buildings, new technology, professional staff and a personal environment are essential parts of the character of Manukau Institute of Technology.
The collaboration with the then Manukau Business School and Southern Cross University commenced in July 1998 and we have had in excess of 300 graduates complete these studies.
The current Faculty of Business was launched in 2008 to provide a comprehensive approach to business education. The Faculty combines the strengths of each of the core business areas taught. From 2010 the District covered by MIT also includes the Pacific Islands.
We hope you enjoy your association with the Institute and, in particular, with the Faculty of Business.
