Southern Cross University

It is established under its own Act of Parliament and is a full member of the more than 500 strong global Association of Commonwealth Universities.

The University is named after the constellation of stars that appears in the night sky of the Southern Hemisphere. The constellation is a potent symbol in Australia’s history and also forms part of the Australian national flag.

Southern Cross University offers degrees at Associate, Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral levels. The University has more than 16,000 students enrolled from throughout Australia and 80 countries around the world. It has developed industry partnerships and strong links with business and the professions to provide a practical emphasis as well as a rigorous appreciation of theory.

SCU offers industry relevant degrees that focus on business, tourism, environmental and health sciences, Indigenous studies, education, law and a broad range of the arts. The University is currently part of seven Australian Co-operative Research Centres.

Southern Cross Business School

The Southern Cross Business School offers a comprehensive range of business and information technology degrees that are informed by research, reviewed by industry leaders and taught by experts.

Students acquire the professional qualifications specifically required and most in demand throughout the public and private business and information technology sectors. The School’s programs are designed to build students' knowledge and capabilities, and open doors and opportunities for them anywhere in the world.

The School is committed to excellence in teaching and offers opportunities for lifelong learning through its undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, which are all tailored to meet industry demands. Courses combine academic rigour with contemporary industry practice, giving students the skills to succeed in complex business environments.

The School’s undergraduate courses offer a diverse range of majors and specialisations, while some of its postgraduate courses are among the first of their kind in Australia, such as the Doctor of Business Administration and the Master of International Sport Management.
