Research Interests
My passion and areas of interest lie within Pacific and Maori health, primary health care, workforce development, women’s health, youth health, sexual health, long term condition management and health promotion. I also have a passion for education and am currently completing a Masters in Health Science focusing on sexual health education among NZ-born Niuean adolescent females.
Background
I am of Niuean (mother) and Maori (father) descent and have been raised in both Counties Manukau and Central Auckland. I am a graduate nurse of MIT and have predominantly worked in Primary Health Care settings in Counties Manukau since qualifying in 2004. My professional experience includes working as a Primary Health Care Nurse, Cultural Officer, Health Promoter and Primary Health Care Liaison Nurse.
