English for International Students
The School of English offers a range of full time programmes for International students. A large range of course levels is available so students can study at a level that suits their needs. The standard programmes are 9, 18 or 36 weeks in length. Enrolments are taken every two weeks.
In addition to the core skills of Reading and Writing and Listening and Speaking, students can select optional interest courses to make up a full time programme of study. These include: Practice for IELTS, Academic Writing, Advanced Pronunciation, Living in New Zealand, English for Study Purposes and English through Computing.
The programmes fully prepare students for further study in Institutes of Technology or Universities in New Zealand.
In the School of English, International students study side by side with students from New Zealand.
The staff in the School are highly qualified and experienced language teachers who are able to adjust courses to meet the specific needs of students in the class. All staff are allocated time to assist with the pastoral care of students in their classes. Academic Advisors are also available to help students with advice on studying and living in New Zealand.
