The National Certificate in Conservation is designed to prepare those students who intend to work in the diverse range of activities carried out by Park Rangers, including Regional Park and conservation work.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet the following entry requirements:
- Be able to demonstrate they have the attitudes and attributes to work and study at the level required for the programme.
- Be physically capable of completing the practical aspects of the programme
and - Have an English language competence to undertake this programme which is taught and assessed in English. Any applicant whose first language is not English must provide evidence of an overall IELTS (Academic) band score of 5.5 (with no one score below 5.0) or equivalent.
Applicants with Disabilities
At the time of enrolment, individual needs will be assessed in conjunction with the MIT disabilities coordinator and compared with the demands of the programme.

Programme Summary
The courses are designed to prepare students for employment in regional parks, or up skill those already employed in the Regional Park and conservation sector.
The programme consists of the following courses:
- Health and Safety
- Plants and Birds
- Conservation Research
- Communications
- Construction Skills
- Agrichemicals and the Weather
- Conservation Management
- Revegetation.
Further Training or Study
Diploma in Horticulture.
Career Opportunities
Graduates will be able to apply for work in the Parks, Reserves and in the conservation sector. The programme provides a meaningful pathway to higher level qualifications.
