The National Certificate in Floristry (Level 4) (Advanced) builds on the National Certificate in Floristry (Level 4). It is an additional 70 credit programme is for students who are studying to become a senior Florist.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following entry requirements:

  • Be physically capable of completing the practical aspects of the programme.
    AND
  • Successfully achieve the National Certificate in Floristry Level 2 or equivalent in order to staircase onto the 2nd Semester Level 4 programme.
    AND
  • Be physically capable of completing the practical aspects of the programme.
    AND
  • Have English language competence to undertake this programme which is taught and assessed in English. Any applicant whose first language is not English may be required to provide evidence of an IELTS (Academic) overall score of 5.5. No band below 5.00, and speaking and listening bands should be at 5.5 or equivalent.
    AND
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have the attitudes and ability to work and study at the required level for the programme.

Entry for National Certificate in Floristry Level 4 Advanced
Students who already hold the National Certificate in Floristry Level 4 will be able to staircase into the Advanced strand of this programme. Applicants who have worked at the level of an intermediate or senior florist for a period of 5 years will be considered for entry into the Advanced option with evidence of a portfolio and work referee.

Selection Requirements
In cases of oversubscription a selection panel will determine a ranking of applicants based on a portfolio that demonstrates: technical competency; creative and/or design ability; and an interview if required.

Programme Summary

National Certificate in Floristry (Level 4) (Advanced) students will learn advanced floristry design skills, managerial skills, wedding and function set ups, specialised customer requests and industry expectations. Students will also have the opportunity to work for real clients on large scale floristry projects such as weddings or functions.
