About the Programme
Progress to an intermediate stage of business administration and computing with this National Certificate.
Skills developed in this programme include basic accounting, use of tables and formulas, the production of advanced business documents and customer service. A practical desktop publishing assignment will require you to design, plan, publish, produce and evaluate a publication.
As a graduate with this qualification you will have the skills to confidently assist office operations and take on roles such as receptionist, office assistant, data entry operator or customer service assistant. Students are trained in MIT's award-winning business training centre which incorporates the Ricoh virtual office.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet the following entry requirements:
- Have computer keyboarding skills.
and - Have successfully completed a relevant bridging programme e.g. MIT Certificate in Office Administration and Computing (Level 2), or equivalent
or - MIT’s secondary school career pathway programme
or - Have a minimum of 12 NCEA English credits at level 1 or equivalent.
or - Gained a minimum mark of 14 out of 20 in the Department’s communication assessment
or - Have English language competence to undertake this programme which is taught and assessed in English. Any applicants whose first language is not English may be required to provide evidence of an overall IELTS (Academic) band score of 5.5 (with no score below 5.0) or equivalent
- Be physically capable of completing the practical aspects of the programme.
