The Certificate in Heavy Automotive Technology (Level 3) is designed to prepare heavy automotive technicians to enter one of the four strands of the heavy automotive repair industry. Embedded in this programme are compulsory and elective unit standards which may lead to further study of the National Certificate.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet the following:
- Have successfully completed one of the following: MIT Certificate in Automotive Level 2, MIT Certificate in Automotive Electrical Level 2, MIT Certificate in Motorsport Level 2, National Certificate in Entry to Automotive Trades Level 2, or equivalent recognised automotive training
Or - Have relative industry experience. Applicants will be required to present a portfolio of evidence to support this.
And - Be physically capable of completing the practical aspects of the programme.
And - Have English language competence to undertake this programme which is delivered in English. Any applicant whose first language is not English may be required to [provide evidence of an ELTS (academic) band score of 5.5 with no band below 5.00 or equivalent.
