The Certificate in Work Skills builds on the Certificate in Community and Work Skills programme providing continuing opportunities for students with special learning needs. The aim is to further develop the skills for work and to introduce supported employment options for future work.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet the following entry requirement:
- Have an intellectual disability and/or other special learning needs.
All applicants (except graduates from the MIT Certificate in Community and Works Skills who have direct entry into the programme) who meet the entry requirement will be interviewed. The interview will provide an opportunity to discuss and/or assess applicants’ motivation to acquire the skills necessary for community living and work, maturity to attend a tertiary institution, and the ability to communicate in English. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate achievement potential through the interview process.
Cost
$4,300 (approx)
Students on an Invalid Benefit may apply to Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) for support with payment of fees.
