The Vocational Tutor/Lecturer or Workplace Trainer is ideal for those currently working as adult educators who are looking for the skills and strategies to embed language, literacy and numeracy into their training programmes. The courses incorporate both academic theory and the application of practical skills, learning and teaching others.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet the following entry requirements:
- Be recognised as an adult educator currently teaching on a programme in their own field,
OR - Have a training/coaching role in industry or the community, in which they engage with adults. These applicants will be required to supply attestations and other evidence supporting their application.
AND - Provide evidence of successful study at Level 4 of 20 credits or equivalent (if equivalent, applicants may be required to attend an interview to determine their suitability to study on this level 5 programme).
AND - Have basic computing skills and have access to a computer with an internet connection
AND - Have English language competence to undertake this programme which is taught and assessed in English. Any applicants whose first language is not English may be required to provide evidence of an overall IELTS (Academic) band score of 6.5 (with no score below 6) or equivalent.
The interview will judge applicant's suitability to study on this level 5 programme.

Programme Summary
In the National Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education, students will complete the following compulsory course:

Unit standard 21204 – 30 credits
Develop adult learners’ literacy and numeracy skills within a training or education programme.
Plus:
Students will also select an additional 10 credits at Level 5, either Unit Standard 21193, Unit Standard 21200 or 10 Level 5 credits from an approved Unit Standard list.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may be available for workplace experience or other qualifications.
