Maintenance & Reliability Centre
Introduction
Local industry will benefit from training offered at Manukau Institute of Technology, with the purpose built Maintenance and Reliability Centre.
MIT is offering short courses to train staff to repair and diagnose faults, as well as ensuring the overall reliability of machinery. The training is vital for the manufacturing industry where machinery breakdowns cost companies huge dollars in labour and replacement parts. When trained staff are available to find faults and fix them, the downtime for machinery or a production line is reduced, which increases overall productivity.
Through this training MIT hopes to promote proactive approaches to maintenance engineering and plant reliability to improve efficiency and reduce the costs for New Zealand companies.
Customised Training for Industry
Participants are trained on state-of-the-art equipment, with practical hands-on work, using on-site machinery that is stripped down and reassembled - an extremely valuable educational tool.
Seminars for 2012
Presented by industry experts, the seminars will cover topics ranging from mechanical transmission elements, gaskets and seals, machine tool alignment, engineering material awareness, vibration analysis, computerised maintenance management, accountancy for engineers to infrared thermography. See below for upcoming seminars available in 2012.
