- Talk to us early. Book an appointment with the Disability Support Service staff – Disability Co-ordinator or Student Advisor - Disabilities before you enrol at Manukau Institute of Technology
- Bring with you evidence of disability.
- Find out what is available to meet your needs
- Be up front about any services, resources, alternative print formats, alternative examination arrangements you need
- Talk to current students to find out what the programme involves. Get an idea of the workload and pressures you will face
- We encourage you to use your initiative to sort out problems with the help of the Disability Support team
- Access any computer equipment you may require now and become familiar with it before the programme starts. Most programmes expect you to word-process your assignments and use computers for research.
- Know your rights. Get up to speed with the Human Rights Act
