Welcome to the Learning Support Centre at MIT. We are here to help you become a successful student, particularly if English isn't your first language.
We have all kinds of ways to make learning English easier and more enjoyable, from interactive computer programmes, to videos, to discussion groups. We have a range of resources which include:
- English dictionaries for second language learners
- IELTS Practice Tests
- Grammar, vocabulary, spelling and punctuation resource books
- Telephone skills resource books
- Road Code resources for your Driver's Licence test
- New Zealand English textbooks
We'll help you to set realistic goals and keep you focused and inspired as you work towards improving your fluency in the English language. Our language advisors can also help with the following:
- Identify your language learning needs
- Choose appropriate study materials
- Preparation for IELTS and ELP tests
- Ideas on how to learn more effectively
We also have conversation classes Monday to Thursday 3.00-4.00pm. For more information, please contact the Learning Support Centre.
So if you need assistance, make an appointment or come to the drop-in centre 11.45am-1.00pm Monday to Friday.
