Foundation-Focused Training Opportunities (FFTO) Pathway Funding @ MIT
Funding is available at MIT for people who currently receive a benefit from Work & Income NZ. Clients will need to contact their case managers/programme co-ordinators to discuss their plans to study at MIT and will need to be referred to be eligible for the funding.
The funding will pay the full tuition fees for one semester (six month) full-time programmes only and Work & Income NZ clients can only receive the funding once.
The funding is offered twice a year, February and July.
To be eligible for the funding, Work & Income NZ clients need to supply the following:
- A FFTO referral letter from their Work & Income NZ case managers/programme co-ordinators, and
- The Statement of Fees Due that is sent to students after they have enrolled in a programme at MIT
Work & Income NZ clients remain on their current benefits while studying for the first six months and will receive a travel allowance fortnightly.
The funding is made available on the condition that after the first semester of funding the clients will progress into higher level programmes and will apply to Studylink for assistance with loans and allowances
