Measles at MIT

MIT has one confirmed case of measles and we are also aware of an unvaccinated student who may have been exposed to the virus – which has a 90% transmission rate.

The students (referenced above) attended the following classes:

  • Monday 2 September 9:00am to 12:00pm Advanced Project Management (341.757) M301 – MIT Manukau
  • Tuesday 3 September, 8:00am to 12:00pm Geotechnical Engineering 2 (242.601) in D106 – Otara South Campus
  • Tuesday 3 September, 13:00pm to 17:00pm Engineering Project (115.616) in P Block – Otara South Campus
  • Wednesday 4 September 9:00am to 12:00pm Advanced Project Management (341.757) M312 – MIT Manukau

Anyone who was in these classes – and up to two hours after the end of class –  may have an elevated risk of exposure, so please check your immunisation status.

If you are not immunised it’s free and easy to get yourself a vaccination.
