The Grind is the only purpose-built barista training facility in a tertiary institution in the North Island. We are the only Institute to roast beans on site, and we source green beans from Costa Rica, Ethiopia and Guatemala which we use as single origin as well as in a blend. We also sell a range of sandwiches, cakes and other cafe food.
Whether your fix is a long black, short black, flat white, latte, cappuccino, hot chocolate or mocha - you’ll find our well-trained catering and hospitality students behind the bar, preparing and serving quality espresso coffee.
On certain days (student assessment days) our coffees are available from 10.00am–1.00pm at only $1 each.
Ask about our prepaid coffee card next time you visit The Grind. Cards cost $10.00 but give you $12.00 credit for use at the Grind.
