Nau mai, Haere mai and welcome new students to MIT!

Our February and July Orientations are awesome events designed to give you the best possible start and welcome to MIT.

The day begins with a formal pōwhiri and campus welcome followed by campus activities, programme sessions and exciting lunch time entertainment. It is also a great opportunity for you to meet key staff, learn about the different services you can access for help and support during the year, sort out any final enrolment issues and make new friends.

Check out the action from our February 2019 campus orientations.

Pōwhiri and official welcome

You will be welcomed with a traditional Maori pōwhiri or “Welcome” as you start your study journey with MIT. Pōwhiri are usually held at Ngā Kete Wānanga Marae, NC Block, Gate 12, Otara Road, however pōwhiri may be held at our other campuses.

For more information about the protocols and process for entering the marae, visit the Ngā Kete Wānanga Marae webpages.
