This is a unified programme that is replacing the existing New Zealand Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology) (Level 3).
This is the programme you will be enrolled in if you are applying, or have applied for the July or October 2023 intakes.

Develop your business administration and technology skills to be ready to apply for general office administration roles or to progress on to further study.
Study in class or online, and our friendly tutors will be on hand to guide you every step of the way.
You'll graduate with the skills to use business technologies and perform a range of administrative tasks in supervised general office administration roles.
You may be required to complete literacy and numeracy assessments as part of this programme.
Entry requirements
General
To be admitted to this programme applicants must meet the following requirements:
Open entry if the delegated authority at the campus/site is satisfied that the applicant has the capability to complete the requirements of the programme.
English language requirements
All applicants (international and domestic) for whom English or te reo Māori is not a first language need to provide evidence that they have the necessary English language proficiency required for the programme.
International students
International applicants must provide evidence that they have the necessary English language proficiency required for the programme as demonstrated by an IELTS score of 5.0 (general or academic) with no individual band lower than 5 from one test taken in the preceding two years, or an equivalent described in NZQA Rules and on Delivery Site English Language Requirements for International Ākonga Web-page.

Programme structure
You will need to complete the below four courses (60 credits):
BSNS3201 Customer services (15 credits)
To develop knowledge, skills and attributes to provide administrative services in a business context.
Upon successful completion of this course, ākonga will be able to:
- Provide administrative and general office services using business technologies
- Contribute to a team to achieve business objectives
- Select and apply customer service techniques in a business context
- Apply professional and ethical behaviours in a socially and culturally responsible manner to contribute to the performance of a business.
BSNS3202 Business technologies (15 credits)
The aim of this course is to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes to use business technologies to produce documents for the workplace.
Upon successful completion of this course, ākonga will be able to:
- Select business technologies to produce a range of business documents.
BSNS3203 Financial information (15 credits)
The aim of this course is to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes to perform financial calculations and process data for business purposes.
Upon successful completion of this course, ākonga will be able to:
- Use business technologies to process data and produce business information
- Use business technologies to perform financial calculations for business purposes.
BSNS3204 Workplace practice (15 credits)
The aim of this course is to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes to apply appropriate technologies to support business performance.
Upon successful completion of this course, ākonga will be able to:
- Use business technologies to support administration services in a business context
- Work cooperatively within a team to provide administration services in a business context
- Apply personal and interpersonal skills in a business context.

Free study for the first year of your Level 3 or above qualification may be available under the government’s fees-free study scheme. Free study for Level 3 may be available for 16 to 24 year olds (Youth Guarantee). All free study is subject to funding confirmation. Proof of residency status required.
