Entry requirements

You must have:  

Either have a minimum of 40 credits at Level 2 or above, or equivalent; and Have English language competence to undertake this programme which is taught and assessed in English i.e. A minimum of 10 NCEA Literacy credits at Level 1 or above; or

Any applicants whose first language is not English will be required to provide evidence of an overall IELTS (Academic) band score of 5.5 (with no score below 5.0) or equivalent achieved within the preceding 2 years; or

A minimum of 3 credits at Level 2 or above from the NQF writing domain; or

Have successfully completed the New Zealand Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology) (Level 3) or equivalent qualification.

Students who have attained the age of 20 years and do not hold the minimum entry requirements for a programme will be eligible to be enrolled as a student where their previous educational, work or life experience indicates they have a reasonable likelihood of success.  Students who have not attained the age of 20 years and do not hold the required minimum entry requirements for a programme may also be eligible to enrol in exceptional circumstances.  Such decisions will be made by the Faculty Dean.

English Language Entry Requirements

Applicants must have sufficient competence in the English language to undertake this programme which is taught and assessed in English. This will be demonstrated by meeting the current NZQA requirements.

Provisional Entry

Banking, consultants, personal bankers (retail), assistant relationship managers, operations roles (back office support to front line), or entry level trustee roles such as: client adviser (entry level), trust officer (entry level), client manager/relationship managers.

Overview of the interactions and structure of the financial services environment in New Zealand.

Financial services regulatory, compliance and advice processes

Detailed learning around the financial services regulatory compliance and advice process environment in New Zealand.

Products, services and customers within a financial services context

Learning the skills and knowledge to match financial sector’s products, services to customer requirements.

New Zealand banking industry

Detailed knowledge of banking sector, the products and services; and the ability to apply a professional advice process within predetermined guidelines when interacting with customers.
