Performance appraisals as a human resource management Tool in small businesses in the hospitality industry

Abstract: This is an exploratory pilot study regarding the use of performance appraisal systems in the small business service sector. The secondary research is on the prevalence of small businesses in New Zealand, the use of performance appraisals and their application in small businesses and in service industries. Some reference is also made to the relationship between performance appraisal and customer satisfaction. The primary research consists of quantitative research on the use of performance appraisal systems in the hospitality sector.
