Frequently asked questions

I have a Pōwhiri that I've been welcomed to attend to start my journey at MIT. What protocols should I be aware of?

We like to give all students the honour of a cultural welcome – a Pōwhiri. You can find more about the process here.

What can I get involved in while I'm studying at MIT?

There are groups to join or you can start one. See activities@manukau.ac.nz. You could volunteer to get involved with different Student Support teams through the Awhi Tauira programme. You could also be a part of the MIT Student Voice.

Are there any sports here at MIT?

We have inter-school sports challenges, from Table-Tennis to Touch and others in between. Email us at activities@manukau.ac.nz

What happens if something goes wrong while I'm studying? Who should I see?

You can always see your lecturer or your Student Advisor in the first instance. If you don’t know where to go your class rep will be able to direct you or you can email advisors@Manukau.ac.nz. If you require support through advocacy you can access this too through Student Support.
