Terms and conditions

  1. The November 2021 Manukau Institute of Technology Limited ‘Get The Tea on MIT’ Competition (“Competition”) runs from Monday 8 November until Wednesday 17 November ("Term").
  2. Entries that comply with these terms and conditions will be eligible to win a prize.
  3. Entries received outside the Term will not be accepted.
  4. Entries will be entered into the Competition by registering online to attend the ‘Get the Tea on MIT’ via registration on MIT website at www.manukau.ac.nz/getthetea. By registering online, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions(“Participants”).
  5. The quizzes will be performed using Kahoot system. The quizzes will consist of 20 questions to answers based on each area of study offered by MIT. Kahoot will generate the top 3 Participants with the highest points/scores, the points/scores system is based on the correctness and speed of their answers. The first round of preliminary quizzes will determine who will be eligible for the final quiz to be held on Wednesday 17 November 2021.
  6. Participants can choose a maximum of two quizzes for the preliminary quizzes and the 2 Participants with the highest scores from each preliminary quiz will be entered into the final quiz.
  7. The eligible winners from each preliminary quiz will receive following; first place will receive a $100 gift card/voucher, second place will receive a $75 gift card/voucher and the third place will receive a $50 gift card/voucher (“Vouchers”).
  8. The final quiz will have up to 20 questions to answer by the Participants. The Participant with the highest scores in the final quiz will win an Apple 13" Macbook Air (Silver) - Apple M1 chip with 8core CPU - 7core GPU and 16core Neural Engine - 8GB Ram - 256GB SSD Retina display with True Tone - Magic Keyboard - Touch ID - Force Touch Trackpad - 2 Thunderbolt/USB4 Ports (“Prize”).
  9. This Competition is administrated and run by MIT and has no association with Apple.
  10. The Competition will be conducted and announced after each quiz is completed. MIT will contact the Prize winner directly using the contact details supplied on registration and will make an announcement through social media.
  11. MIT shall have the right to assess the validity of any entry into the Competition. If requested by MIT the Voucher and Prize winners shall provide evidence proving the validity of entry (for example proof of ID) to MIT's satisfaction. In the event that MIT is not satisfied that the winner meets all the requirements of these terms and conditions, MIT reserves the right at its sole discretion to redraw the winner immediately.
  12. The Prize winner agrees to have their photo taken with the Prize for a public announcement with their name on MIT’s social media platforms and website.
  13. MIT will collect and hold personal information provided in relation to each Competition entry for the purposes of the Competition. All such personal information will be held by MIT as is notified to the Participant upon entry and otherwise in accordance with MIT’s Privacy Policy (at www.manukau.ac.nz/about/site-help/privacy). Participants have the right to request access to and correction of their personal information.
  14. All decisions of MIT in relation to any aspect of the Competition are final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  15. MIT reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or terminate the Competition at any time at its sole discretion.
  16. An employee of MIT or an immediate family member thereof cannot enter the Competition.
  17. MIT staff and students currently enrolled at MIT are not eligible to participate in this Competition.
