Canvas returns to normal service

Thank you for your patience as we worked through recent issues with Canvas, our learning management system.
Canvas was offline for parts of Friday as the company which supplies the platform to 9,000 institutions worldwide – including MIT – responded to a cybersecurity alert.
MIT shifted to alternative modes of delivery which reduced the use of Canvas while the situation was resolved.
We are satisfied we are now in a position to return to using the system as per normal.
However, please be aware, issues like this can lead to an increase in phishing messages. Watch out for emails, phone calls or messages from unfamiliar sources, asking you to do things like click links or install software.

You can help keep our systems secure by not using your student email account for personal uses such as online shopping and joining streaming services.
