Rana Rodney
Position:
Senior Lecturer
Teaching area:
General education and early childhood education
Biography:
Rana’s passion is working with young tamariki, she started in 2003 where she worked as a playgroup co-ordinator in Melbourne, Australia. Four years later, Rana returned to Aotearoa to pursue her passion and gained a qualification in early childhood education from MIT.
Rana held various positions in ECE and later found that tertiary teaching is just as exciting, furthering her journey in the educational field. She hasn’t looked back since. To be able to support tertiary students to pursue their dream of becoming a kaiako and nurturing the tamariki to become confident and competent learners is exceptionally rewarding.
Why I love MIT:
MIT is a tight-woven community where students and staff alike feel a strong sense of belonging. I love how returning to MIT always feels like home. The staff at MIT are very supportive and will always go the extra mile to awhi students to ensure they can reach their full potential and achieve the best outcomes.
