Biography
Alice is originally from the U.K. and has been living and teaching in New Zealand since 2018. She is deeply passionate about getting the early years right and loves to share her enthusiasm for play-based learning and musicality with others. Her teaching experience spans both the primary and early years sectors across England, Germany, and New Zealand, giving her a rich and diverse perspective on early education. She began her teaching journey in Manchester where she often volunteered at her mother’s nursery whilst she was at sixth form college at the age of seventeen. Later on, she went to study at Leeds Beckett University where she began her four-year teacher training degree. After qualifying, with first-class honours and outstanding academic achievement, taught in Manchester across the early year sector at school for three to four years before pursuing overseas experiences in Germany and then here in New Zealand. In 2024 Alice completed her Master of Education at the University of Auckland and her research explored the teaching and learning of musicality within New-Entrant teaching spaces.
