Biography:

Tina was born in Tonga and moved to NZ when she was 16. She is married with 6 amazing children and two gorgeous grandchildren. She first trained as a social worker and later qualified as a counsellor, both through MIT. She then went on to complete her masters in counselling at Auckland University early 2021. She has a 20 years’ experience working in the counselling and mental health field, including with Harmony Trust as a group therapist and clinical leader. She started her new role as a lecturer at MIT in July 2021.

Why I love MIT:

I appreciate the opportunity to join the teaching team at MIT and to give back to my community and people what has been given to me.  Many lecturers and fellow students have contributed to my learning and journey since 2002. MIT is a multicultural place.
