Biography

Ushani brings a wealth of experience in tertiary education, particularly in teaching health and wellbeing and other health-related courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She holds a Master of Health Sciences from the University of Auckland and a Bachelor of Science Honours from the University of Colombo.

Her professional background includes, extensive teaching experience in research methodology, health sciences, and laboratory-based learning. She has a proven track record of supporting diverse student cohorts, including Māori, Pasifika, and neuro-diverse learners, practical experience in community health work in New Zealand. In addition, she has a strong research and publication record, with over 25 research articles published internationally.

Ushani is passionate about student success and committed to fostering inclusive, collaborative, and culturally responsive learning environments.
