Biography

Ahmad Wedyan is an experienced digital technologies lecturer with over 7+ years of experience. He received his PhD in Computer Science from the Auckland University of Technology in 2018. Ahmad is an ambitious person who always strives to achieve the highest standard possible. Adept in creating engaging curriculum and fostering student participation in both classroom and distance-learning environments.

Much of Ahmad's work has been on improving the understanding, design, and performance of computational algorithms and nature-inspired optimization algorithms. His current research interests include artificial intelligence, evolutionary computation, machine learning, data science, business informatics, and business intelligence.

What I love about MIT

I love MIT because of the diversity of people and cultures. MIT provides a suitable environment to empower our Māori and Pasifika students to grow in the emerging digital industries.

Research interests

I have designed and modelled a novel nature-inspired algorithm called Hydrological Cycle Algorithm. This algorithm has been used for solving optimisation problems. Specifically, the Vehicle Routing Problems. My current research interests are in problem solving and optimisation, metaheuristic algorithms, nature-inspired computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, problem solving, business informatics, and business intelligence and analytics.
