Biography

Kylie is a teacher of young children and adults, though her particular passion is infants and toddlers. Kylie has worked in early childhood settings in South Auckland, Rotorua and Tauranga which has given her an appreciation of mixed-age communities of learning in practice, which also prompted her continued Masters study with the ability to combine both interests.

Kylie has been working with MIT for over a decade now and continues to be challenged and excited by what tertiary education has to offer and what she can do to add value for our students and teaching team.

Why I love MIT

I love MIT's values as these strongly influence the way we engages with others. Being real and connected while working with Manaakitanga, all add to promoting excellence.

I have a long history with MIT as a student many years ago which propelled my love of teaching and learning, I feel incredibly lucky that I have been able to return to work with some of the passionate lecturers who taught me.

The fact that the School of Education offers predominantly work-based education which allows our students to compliment the theory they learn in the classroom with the practical application in their chosen field of work is one of the key reasons I love MIT. Our programmes are all designed to ensure graduates are work ready and great additions to any team they work with.
