Biography:
Sjimmy is of Dutch and Suriname Creole/Arawak descent whose practice was sharpened through 1980’s land rights, and equity activism. A leader in community development, youth work, community economic development, health promotion practice, and a health promotion innovator, Sjimmy has a deep (sometimes uncomfortable) understanding of how power relationships, race, colour, culture, and identity play out in organisational structures and how these affect services.
