Biography
Doron Semu (He/They) is a Sāmoan/Pālagi registered nurse and academic lecturer from the villages of Salelesi, Falelatai, Falelima, and Asau. His clinical background is in emergency paediatric nursing. Doron’s master’s thesis focused on culturally safe nursing for the MVPFAFF+ Rainbow Pasifika community – Māhū (Hawai’i and Tahiti), Vakasalewa Lewa (Fiji), Palopa (Papua New Guinea) Fa’afafine (Sāmoa), Akav’ine (Cook Islands), Fakafifine (Niue), Fakaleiti (Tonga), the plus acknowledges indigenous Pacific gender expressions and sexual identities not included in the acronym. Doron’s interests are health equity, paediatric emergency medicine, and increasing visibility and representation of MVPFAFF+ Pasifika Rainbow joy.
