Biography:
- I’m a Dutch New Zealander and became a Pastry Baker in Amsterdam in the mid 1980’s
- I worked in a small pastry shop and moved to the biggest conference hotel in Amsterdam before moving to Queenstown in the mid 90’s
- I became Millbrook Resort’s first pastry chef in 1998, and was there when both Kiri Te Kanawa and Bill Clinton came to visit
- By 2005, I had worked for a number of small resorts and catering companies, and made the dessert for Luciano Pavarotti’s visit to North Harbour Stadium
- In 2011 my baking student was the first full-time student ranked in the top 3 for the Weston Milling Baking Trainee of the year competition.
- I was the first woman to judge in the BIANZ Baker of the Year Competition in 2014.
